Biography
I’m a graduate student in the Cellular and Molecular Biology Program (CMB) and the Program in Biomedical Sciences (PIBS) at the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor. My research currently focuses on the study of stress resistance and the mechanisms of aging in the murine model. In my free time I collect music, play soccer, and root for Michigan athletics. Go Blue!
I was born in Orange County not too far from Disneyland and lived there until I was 13. I then moved to Marin County, which is north of San Francisco. While living in Mill Valley, I attended Tamalpais High School, from which I graduated in 2001. It’s is a big hippie community and very liberal. I lived there in my teens, a very impressionable period, and adopted most of the Marin ideology. Thus, I tend to agree with the left, enjoy shopping at Whole Foods, and practice Tai Chi. I drink green tea instead of coffee, know how to cook awesome stir-fry, and make soy protein power smoothies in the morning.
In the Spring of 2005, I graduated with a B.S. in Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics and a minor in Spanish from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). I lived in Los Angeles for four years, which was an enjoyable experience minus the traffic and the high cost of living. I still miss the sushi, bars, and night clubs.

The site is coded in XHTML 1.1 and CSS 2.0, which was written with BBEdit on my PowerBook. WordPress autogenerates the HTML in my posts. SlideShowPro manages the photo gallery.

All content is handicap accessible according to Section 508 and WCAG 1.0 standards. The site has been rated for content by the ICRA. Page rendering is tested in the latest versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple Safari.
